Activities
Phyllis So, VP Activities
Our newest ongoing activity – Spanish and Coffee – has been going through some trials and errors finding a consistent place to hold the activity. We can use some help finding a location that has a back room for privacy for 15-20 people on a weekly basis. If you have such a place in your neighborhood please let Marilyn Megallon know.
Board Games and More has been happening and has a good following. Twice a month someone hosts a board game like RumiKube, 3-13, Mexican Dominoes, Yahtzee (or whatever board game you want to play). Just let Ann Linton know you want to host a 6-8 person board game night.
We also had a great Wine/Empanadas fundraiser activity where we had fabulous empanadas from Malvon (thanks to our very own member, Inez Reser) with wine to go with it. Thanks to your generosity we were able to donate €115 to Casa Ronald McDonald, one of the charities supported by the IWCV.
We had a fabulous tour of La Patriarca with David from Ars Magna last month, and there’s another tour on the December calendar – a visit to the Palacio El Cervello. Sign up quickly as it is filling fast!
Finally, we have a fascinating talk scheduled with licensed dietician Susan March on a great topic that’s very appropriate for the holiday season “An Expat Dilemma: Socializing Can be Hazardous to Your Health”. Join us to learn how to enjoy yourself and avoid extra calories at the same time!
