About The Event
El Cabanyal in Valencia is a former fishing village with an interesting history. Inspired by the hard working fishermen, the famous artist Joaquín Sorolla created some of his most important paintings here. The great spanish writer Blasco de Ibanez wrote his novel Flor de Mayo about the poor life of the people of El Cabanyal. Today, street artists protest against the demolition and decay of the neighborhood through their large works on walls and houses.
The walking tour on the way to the Martina van de Gey studio will take about an hour. After the studio visit, we can relax in the garden with wine and tapas.
Please note: There will about 2.5 km of walking with various stops, but it is mostly flat with no stairs along the way.
