About The Event
The Fine Arts Museum San Pio V is one of the most outstanding painting archives in Spain, renowned for its collections of primitive Valencian painters, although there are also works by El Greco, Velázquez, Murillo and Goya.
A visit to this gem with our expert guide David of Ars Magna is always a treat. We will visit the Gothic and Renaissance galleries, which highlight the region’s Golden Age.
From the late Gothic works of Maestro de Perea, Nicolás Falcó, and Rodrigo de Osona, to the arrival of Paolo de San Leocadio and Francesco Pagano—whose angelic frescoes mark the shift to the Italian Renaissance—the museum tells a vivid story. We’ll discover Joan de Joanes’ precise symmetry, El Greco’s dreamlike style, a rare Pinturicchio commissioned by the Borgias, a stunning Bosch triptych, and the elegant court of Ambassador Vich’s Palace—a true gem of architecture.
