About The Event
The Valencian Regional Exhibition of 1909 and the National Exhibition of 1910 constitute an impressive chapter in Valencia's development and had a huge and lasting impact on the city. The exposition took place north of the city walls, just across the Paseo Alameda. In 1909, the Turia river was still flowing strong, and the land north of it hadn’t really been fully developed. The Exposition, though, changed that — a large number of spectacular neo-Gothic buildings were specially constructed, and the Expo welcomed important guests like Blasco Ibáñez and saw the inauguration of the Valencian Hymn. The celebration of this great Fair marked the city's architectural and urban growth. Today we will tour some of these amazing buildings as our English-speaking guide David explains the historical significance of these major Valencian events.
After the tour you are invited to come along for a drink to thank David and to wish…
