About The Event
For those who are unaware, Manises is a hidden gem of Valencia, just a few kilometres from the city center and easy to reach by Metro.
Manises (and neighboring Paterna) are the birthplace of Valencian pottery. Beautiful tiles decorate many of the surfaces throughout the town and stand testimony to its glorious artistic history.
Join us on this special day where we will attend a workshop to paint socarrat tiles, ceramic pieces from the 15th century that were used to decorate ceilings and eaves. We will then tour the spectacular Manises Ceramics Museum, followed by a home-cooked lunch in a true workingman’s restaurant. There is also a fabulous photography museum above the Tourist Center that has cameras from way back that is worth a look.
Members are encouraged to bring a guest.
