About The Event
If you missed our first session of classes, now you can learn Hong Kong style Mahjong this May! Mahjong is a game that originated in China. It is commonly played by four players. The game and its regional variants (there are many!) are widely played throughout Eastern and South Eastern Asia and are becoming more and more popular in Western countries. Similar to Western card games like rummy, mahjong is a game of skill, strategy, and calculation - and involves a bit of luck! It is fun, it is social, it is easy – and now is your chance to learn to play! In this 4 session class, you will learn the basics of Hong Kong Mahjong. You will be able to play a game after the first lesson, and by the last you will be ready to join the IWC’s mahjong group and play regularly! This class is for beginners, but it’s fine if you’ve played another form of mahjong and want to learn something new .
Please plan to attend all 4 sessions (especially the first!) Dates: Mondays, May 6, 13, 20, 27 Time: 10 AM to Noon
