Guided Tour of the Botanic Gardens

We will be guided through Valencia’s lovely Botanical Gardens. The Botanical Garden is part of

the University of Valencia. It was started in the 16 th century to study the medicinal properties of plants.

It started opening to the public in its’ present location in 1802. Housing some 3,000 species of trees and

plants, Valencia's Botanical Garden has a vast collection encompassing all continents, including assortments

of palms trees, tropical species and cacti.

In addition to being a space of beauty and tranquility, the gardens are a hub of cultural and educational activity. The gardens are the subject of on-going research encompassing plant diversity, rare species conservation, endemic and endangered Mediterranean flora, and conservation of natural habitats. 

Please arrive by 10:45am for an 11:00 am. Note: we will be walking
