Cultural Tour to Valldigna - Registration will close Tuesday, September 17

In order to make bus reservation we must close registration by 10:00 on Tuesday,  September  17.

Valldigna is in the northern part of the Safor region.  It was chosen by King Jaime 2 as the site where he wished to establish a community of Cistercian monks in 1298 and because of this it became one of the most important territories of Valencia.  Over its very long history it changed purposes and lost power, by 1835 it had fallen into total decrepitude.  Then in 1991 the Valencia Regional Government was placed in charge of it and it has since, gradually, been restored back into its former glory.  Stories of the restoration will be included in the tour.

The tour that is being offered is quite a long one as it covers the whole area and its history, not just the Monastery.  As you will see below it is an estimated 9 hour tour and includes the bus, breakfast, guided tour, lunch and some surprising walks and sights.  This is considerably more than the usual Valldigna tour.  The lunch has been promised to be very good and to include local delicacies. 

As you will see the more people who join us the cheaper it gets for each of us, so please try and get as many friends as possible to join us.  They do not have to be members of the IWC but, perhaps, this tour could persuade them to join! 

Once I have an idea of how many people wish to come to this I will get the information on payment.

Estimated duration: 09h30-18h00.  Autobús, breakfast, guided tour, lunch, and trip insurance included.
