“All the Best Parties” – The Author's Take on the Novel and Its Making

Tony Woodcock's first book, “All the Best Parties,” has just been published and he warmly acknowledges the work of our very own Sandra Molyneaux as his expert editor in its production. The book takes us into the scorching drama behind the scenes of an opera company; the arias, the fabulous sets, celebrities and social glitter! From a pinnacle of artistic success and financial stability, the company begins to disintegrate. But even as the fragile structure begins to topple, the best parties for the social elite continue-- even without the musicians and singers. Nero continues to fiddle as Rome burns, but the Fat Lady has already stopped singing. 

Tony will talk about the genesis of the book, and working with Sandra. He will read some extracts and answer any questions you may have. Wine & beer will be served.

Tony Woodcock is an Arts Manager, musician, educationalist and writer. He studied music at Cardiff University which honored him with a Fellowship in 2014. He has managed orchestras in the UK and the US; served as President of New England Conservatory, Boston; and in 2015 founded his own arts consultancy, Scolopaxarts.
