September 2021

Looks like we all survived August’s heat – and now we’re ready to start up again as the summer draws to a close and the beautiful weather sets in! We’ve got a lot planned so please read the whole Newsletter!

Joanne Simpson continues to reach out to our new members through our Ambassador Program. She could definitely use a few more ambassadors if any of you are interested in volunteering! It’s easy, and fun, and what a great way to meet women who are new to the IWCV!. Please just contact us at and we’ll get you signed up.

Membership Events for September:

First Tuesday Coffee – Tuesday 7 September, 10:30 to Noon at MuviMent, outside behind the Muvim Museum. Join us for a cuppa and a chat and meet up with friends old and new! No need to register for this in advance. Open to all women of Valencia, both IWCV members and those who haven’t joined us yet.

September Luncheon, for members only – Thursday 16 September. For details and to register, please go to our website at Events & Activities | IWC - Valencia

OWL – Our very own IWCV Happy Hour, for members, their spouses, partners, and guests. Wednesday 29 September, 6 PM to 7:30 or whenever! At Babilonia, Carrer del Mestre Clavé, 1, between C/San Vincent Martir and Avenida del Oeste. No need to register but please email Jane at and let her know how many you will be so we can give the folks at Babilonia a ballpark headcount.

Thank you to all you wonderful ladies in IWC who continue to give generously to our charities. All three charities have struggled throughout the pandemic and every effort we make is greatly appreciated by them and also by the IWC Charities Team.

We have a new request from CC for diapers and wet wipes. For those of you who wish to donate these products please bring along to Mahjong (Mondays at Marcellino’s, Gran Via Ferran el Catolic 74 (corner of C/Quart & Gran Via), the First Tuesday Coffee Morning or The Luncheon. There will always be a member of the charity team in attendance to collect the donations. In December our members kindly donated 1,766 diapers. Can we exceed this target? Let's go for it!

Again, our wonderful ladies in IWC have been generous in supporting Casa Ronald. In July & August we raised €125 through the sale of bracelets and donations

Our IWC members have been kindly donating to Proyecto Vivir. In July €590 was raised (the PV office is currently closed and we cannot confirm the August figure yet). For those of you who would still like to donate please see below details:

Donations can be made directly through bank transfer or BIZUM for those who use that App. Account for PROYECTO VIVIR: ES52 2038 5748 7930 0081 2480. Please tag your donation IWC Valencia in the "justification".

  • Beginning in September, our regular events and activities will be up & running!

NONE – But don’t forget Fallas the first week of September!

We are looking forward to seeing you all as the weather cools down and things get back to “normal” in Valencia this September!
