Have you been to the beach yet? I saw the sun shining this morning and said to myself “Get thee to the Boardwalk!” – and it was beautiful! Fingers crossed that wonderful, sunny, blue- skied Valencian weather has returned!
MPORTANT FOR ALL MEMBERS: If you want to remain a member of the IWCV and you have not already let us know, it is very important that you EMAIL firstname.lastname@example.org by May 31, 2022 and let us know that you want to remain in the group. You can simply type "remain a member" in the subject line, there is no need to write anything in the mail itself. If at this time you no longer want to participate in the IWCV, you do not need to do anything. We will be sorry to see you go, but we will delete all members who have not responded by May 31.
If you sign up for the Casa Ronald McDonald Dinner in June (or have already signed up) and you would like to sit with your fellow IWCV members, please let us know by emailing email@example.com. That way we will be able to create a list for Casa Ronald. Please include the names of your guests. For more information on the dinner, see below under “Charities & Fundraising”. Thank you!

CHARITIES AND FUNDRAISING
Afternoon Tea Event
On behalf of the Charities Group, we would like to thank all you lovely ladies who supported our Afternoon Tea and those who participated in The Easter Bonnet Competition which was won by Donna Morgan (Congratulations, Donna!). We raised the wonderful sum of €300 which will be divided between our three charities, Proyecto Vivir, Casa Caridad & Casa Ronald.
A special and heartfelt thanks to Jane & Frank Buck for hosting the event and to Frank for providing our ladies with such delicious treats. Thank you also to Billy Buck for adjudicating our competition. A wonderful afternoon was enjoyed by all. You can see photos of the event, and the bonnets, on our Activities page.
Proyectir Vivir (PV) We are still looking for a coordinator for Proyector Vivir. For those of who may have some spare time please consider and if you are interested, contact Pauline at email@example.com. Pauline can give you full details of what is involved.
For those of you who are still interested in volunteering at Proyecto Vivir, please call Cristina at PV on +34 687 534099 and arrange a convenient time to meet with her. When you call tell her you are an IWCV member.
Our focus continues to be raising funds for alimentary items. Some of the basic needs are infant and feminine hygiene products, shampoo, shower gel, creams etc. and food stuff such as pasta, tomatoes, oil, vinegar, fruits, and fresh produce. Rice is not required as they have a regular supplier. PV will be happy if people wish to purchase the products and drop them off or have them delivered via supermarket service. Or, if you prefer, Cristina at PV knows their exact needs and a donation would also be appreciated. A one-time donation is wonderful but if anyone wishes to make a monthly donation you can do so through the Proyecto Vivir website. PV can provide certificates of donations for tax deductions if required. If you make a donation to PV please reference it with IWC Valencia. The website for info and details is www.proyectovivir.es. Information on collaboration, donations and the store is at: www.proyectovivir.es/colabora/
Casa Ronald, like all charities, still struggles after the pandemic but they continue to support the families of ill children and they are in need of funding. Please read the following message. If you wish to donate to this worthwhile cause and become a member please follow the link below. Thank you always IWCV ladies for your continued support.
"We need mothers, fathers, grandfathers, grandmothers, aunts, cousins, nieces, friends... who want to join our BIG FAMILY! Every year we host more than 200 families with seriously ill children who need to be close to them during their recovery. To maintain our House, before the pandemic came into our lives, we organized a large number of events and actions to raise funds. Even today, normality has not returned to our day-to-day life, which is why we are writing to ask you to join our great family in a very simple way that generates a lot of stability: by becoming a member. You can decide the amount and frequency that you can contribute and with it you will be helping us to continue accommodating families when they need to come to Valencia. Click on the following link to join https://participa.fundacionronald.org/sociocasaronaldvalencia IT ALL ADDS UP! Thank you for helping us create a "home away from home"
And, in keeping with helping Casa Ronald, as well as a great way to have a wonderfully fun evening, please consider attending Casa Ronald’s Gala Charity Dinner. After a two year hiatus due to COVID, Casa Ronald McDonald House is once again holding its traditional Charity Dinner. This year it will be at the beach at the Hotel Las Arenas.
To register for the Ronald McDonald House Charity Dinner click here:
cena-benefica-casa-ronald-mcdonald-valencia-2022. Please put “IWCV” in the description field so that Casa Ronald can seat us together. If you do sign up, please also email firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know (please include your guests' names too) so that we can make sure those from our organization who wish to sit together are seated at the same table. This is NOT a black tie event. Just dress nicely (men may consider wearing a sports jacket).
The Ronald McDonald House of Valencia returns with its traditional Charity Dinner after two years of not being able to celebrate it. The event will be on Thursday, June 9 at 20:30 at the idyllic Las Arenas hotel. As in the past, it will start with a delicious cocktail in the hotel’s gardens and will then move on to an exquisite dinner with an open bar and good music thanks to our great friends of the group "Eñe", plus many more surprises.
We would love to have your presence at this long-awaited and special event to help us continue offering "a home outside the home" in Valencia to families in need.
We are waiting for you!
