Autumn has arrived, bringing cool Mediterranean breezes, comfortable temperatures, and a whole lot of things to do with your IWCV friends! Read on to find out what we’ve got planned for all our members.

Our IWCV year is nearly over, and we will be holding elections for the IWCV Board of Directors in the next few months (exact date TBD). We will have three open positions on the Board. You are welcome to nominate yourself or another member who you think would fit a position. In the meantime, if you are interested in any of these positions, please contact any current board member to put your name in the hat or for more information.

  • Treasurer: The treasurer has oversight responsibility for all financial matters of IWCV. Proficiency in Spanish is helpful but not required.

  • Recording Secretary: The recording secretary takes minutes at all board meetings and the Annual General Meeting (AGM), and maintains an archival record of all board and AGM meetings, committee reports, and events attendance.

  • Member-at-Large: Unlike other executive board leaders, the member-at-large does not have a specific role. A member-at-large serves as a liaison to the general membership. Duties change as needed to fulfill board requirements and address overall organizational goals.

Luncheon Committtee

The IWCV’s luncheon committee is looking for a few new members. It is so much easier – and so much more fun – to set up our membership luncheons when we have a small group of willing women to help out with suggestions and tastings! If you are interested in contributing your time, please contact Jane at

Make sure to put your name on the recipe, and if you got the recipe from a specific chef or website, please credit that too. All recipes will be posted on the IWCV website and hopefully we will be able to produce a must-have cookbook filled with members’ culinary recommendations!

Just a gentle reminder of our Design a Holiday Card Competition. We are sure that we have many creative ladies in the IWCV. There will be a prize for the winner. All proceeds will help raise much needed funds for our charities, Casa Ronald, Casa Caridad & Proyecto Vivir.

We want you to get creative! – You can produce your design in any way you wish. It could be a drawing, painting, collage or a photograph. We will accept the following file types: PDF, JPEG, or PNG. Please ensure that it is high resolution (at least 300dpi) at actual size to ensure good quality print.

The closing date for all entries is Friday October 22nd. 2021 Please email your entries to The IWCV Board will be the adjudicating panel and the winner will be announced in early November.  By entering the competition, entrants are giving IWCV the right to use their design, copyright free. The winner's name will appear on the back of the card incorporating their design.

The cards will go on sale mid-November.

It is a special time of year where we all look forward to embracing the holiday season. Let this Holiday Card Competition be a chance to look forward to a Festive Season at the end of a challenging period.

Thank you in advance for participating and we are looking forward to seeing your wonderful creations!

We are still supporting Casa Caridad with donations of diapers and wet wipes. For those of you who would like to contribute, please bring your donation to any of our events, Happy Owl on Wednesday October 27th, Mahjong on Mondays, Coffee Morning on October 5th and our October luncheon on October 21st.
