Can March and Fallas be upon us? Fallas is an amazing experience for anyone who is in Valencia. There are a number of English language website and apps that will keep you up to date on what is going on. Check the App store on Apple or Play Store on Android.
Once again there was there was an enjoyable concert by candlelight at the Church of the Real Colegio de las Escuelas Pías de Valencia. It was a sold-out crowd, so if you are interested, get your tickets early. The next one is in April. Check their website for details and to purchase your tickets.
Our tour of the Casa-Museo Benlliure was absolutely delightful. It is such a beautiful place with a lovely garden and filled with the artwork of the Benlliure family, José, his son Pepino and his brother Mariano. David, our terrific guide, was, as always, extremely informative.
It is not too late to donate “gently used, clean clothes” to Proyecto Vivir. The cutoff date is March 3. Contact any of the following to arrange your drop-off.

A big thank you to Ines, Missy and Elaine who are coordinating with Proyecto Vivir. They are currently planning additional ways to support Proyecto Vivir and are looking for a volunteer or two who speak Spanish to serve as liaison with Proyecto Vivir. Please contact any of them if you are interested in doing this.

Please don’t forget our friends at Casa Caridad. They are always in need of a variety of items to care for their residents. At this time there is a need for underwear for adults and children. You can always bring them to coffee or lunch.
There was some confusion about whether you could volunteer if you are on a non-lucrative visa. You cannot volunteer for a job that would be a paying job for someone. If it is purely a volunteer position, you may volunteer.
Missy has arranged a terrific trip to Gandia on April 1. It will include a visit to the Ducal Palace of the Borja, Fallas Museum and Lunch. Please check the website for details and sign-up early as the trip is limited to 16 participants.
Please save the date for our Annual General Meeting on April 16. As we have done in the past a morning meeting will be followed by our monthly lunch. Detail will be sent out and posted on the website a bit later. In addition to reviewing our past year, elections will be held. It is also a time to share your ideas and make plans for the up-coming year.
A thank you to Brenda Stein, Lauren Baker and Missy Anobile who have agreed to be our Nominating Committee. You will be receiving information directly from them about the election in mid-March. If for some reason you do not receive anything, check your “spam” inbox. If it is not there, go to “Contact Us” on the website and let us know so we can make sure you get the information.
Please welcome our February new members.
